Kendal Primary Care Network

The three GP Surgeries in Kendal working together to help improve peoples' health

Primary Care Network

The Kendal Primary Care Network is about the 3 GP practices in Kendal working together, and with our communities, for the good of the whole population of Kendal. The NHS 5 Year Plan identifies Primary Care Networks (PCNs) as the mechanism through which Primary Care will be invested in over the coming years. In Kendal, we have already been able to improve the support we give to patients by employing 2 Social Prescribers and a First Contact Physiotherapist – who work with patients in each of our 3 practices. In 2021, we expect to be increasing this support by employing 3 Clinical Pharmacists to improve medication management, and a Primary Care Paramedic to improve the care that is offered to our housebound patients.

Dr. Ed Clarke - Kendal PCN Clinical Director

I became a GP in Liverpool in 2004 and stayed in the same practice until my wife Kate and I moved our family to Milnthorpe in 2017.

I love General Practice. It is the cornerstone of the NHS and can make a huge difference to the lives and health of our population.  Being part of the Kendal Primary Care Network allows our practices to develop the services we offer to patients in a way that exceeds what any of our practices would be able to offer alone.
